Red LED Lights
Introduced in the early 60's led lights were originally only produced as low intesity red coloured, this was due to manufacturing restrictions around this time. Red LED lights were predominantly the favoured colour up to the mid 90's. This was because they were the cheapest to produce.
Red LED Lights are used for a variety of purposes including
- Television standby status
- PC Monitor on status
- Remote controls (infra red)
- Watches
- Cameras
- Video Cameras
- CCTV Monitoring cameras
- Computer Equipment
- Car Stereos
- Hi-Fi Systems
- Much more
Their uses are endless and today red LED's are still produced much more than any colour. What has happened since the 80's is that technology has moved on and now LED's are available in blue, red, green, white, UV and more, they have also become much more common in the home for general lighting.
Our rebel led range is a good place to start if you are researching LED Lamps, also our general led lighting page will take you from what are led lights to their uses and practical examples.
