LED Street Lighting

LED Lighting is all around and is taking new forms and displacing old technologies all the time. We have picked up on a rapidly growing trend of using LED Light units for street lighting, this move is considered to be more environmentally friendly due to the lower power consumption and higher light output of the LED Lamps over older technology. Interestingly some of the towns in the UK trialing/using LED Street lighting include:
- Lancashire – LED Street Lighting on main roads
- Bedfordshire – LED Street Lighting again on main roads
- Berkshire – LED Park Lighting – see http://www.newbury.net/forum/m-1286366248/
- Birmingham – LED City Centre Lighting
The list goes on but it seems as though the UK is a little slow in the uptake at the moment…
